Lochwood Academy exists to give you and your child the best training available in the performing arts. From the moment you walk in the doors of Lochwood Academy you feel the warm connection with teacher other students.
Lochwood Academy is proud to now offer KiddyKeys to our youngest students as they begin their musical journey. This addition fits right in with our values and vision of offering every student a strong education in the performing arts with nurturing teachers in a professional environment, which builds confidence in the student and inspires them for their future and love of the arts.
Our founder, Alice-Margaret Byerts, has had a soft spot in her heart for training and developing young musicians to be the best that they can be with the natural ability they have been given. She believes that all students are teachable and have a natural love of the arts. Alice-Margaret started piano lessons at the knee of her mother and after receiving her music education degree from Stetson University, she married and homeschooled her own 2 children. Part of their music curriculum was to learn piano from a very early age. This early start propelled her children into becoming life-long lovers of the arts and are now teachers of their own (in clarinet and oboe -- as well as piano).
In 2011, Alice-Margaret took her piano/voice studio out of her house and opened up Lochwood Academy where she can help more students reach their full potential as performers. Lochwood now has nearly 20 teachers and new students begin their training here weekly. We invite you to start your journey with us.
It is never too early to get your child started on this adventure of a lifetime: Music
